Conserving Biodiversity in Bhuj through City Forests: Sahyogvan

In the heart of Bhuj, a unique initiative is underway to restore habitats and conserve biodiversity. Led by Homes in the City—a collective effort by Civil Society Organisations— this project focuses on creating green belts and planting native species to revive the local ecosystem. Guided by HIC’s commitment to environmental and ecological sustainability, these efforts have transformed the city’s landscape. Over the past five years, with active community engagement, more than 10,000 native plants have flourished, embodying the power of collective action in conserving biodiversity for future generations.
